It’s the last week for signatures on the petition to Parliament and it’s been a nervous and busy couple of weeks juggling life, surgery and raising awareness around Essure. Thankfully, awareness is slowly growing, along with support for the petition.
Essure led 1News on Saturday, 4 May, when Lisa Davies told the story of Shay, an Essure survivor, and gave the petition a wee plug.
At the beginning of April an official information request was submitted, asking essentially what information and notifications the ministry had sent to the medical community. It was hoped that the Ministry of Health or Medsafe could provide some answers to these important questions before the petition came to a close, but alas it was not meant to be, as they have extended the time they have to answer.
You can follow the progress of this request as it was submitted publicly.

Now the nerves are growing as we move closer to the day the petition is presented to the house.
Stay tuned for an update on what is bubbling away in parliament around Essure.
