RANZCOG issue a statement in respect to Essure.

In a surprising twist, and one we almost missed, RANZCOG issued a statement calling for support for New Zealand women who have concerns about Essure contraceptive devices. You can read it at the link below.

It seems rather similar to the wording Bayer, Medsafe and the Ministry of Health have used in recent weeks.

The thing with complaints is that they don’t always make it to Medsafe, or anyone else in the chain, unless doctors, and specialist, are willing to listen, take a history, and take the time to write a report. Remember who implanted them in the first place, women’s health specialists, gynaecologists.

We are often told that only around 5% of cases make it to Medsafe. What percentage of actual issues does this small percentage represent, and how many women are suffering and being ignored? How much damage has been overlooked and unreported?

Pieces in a jar, migration through the uterus, autoimmune conditions, physical anatomical changes, the list of reported symptoms by sufferers just goes on growing, does Medsafes?

If you’ve been following along, you may recall that in August 2017, Medsafe appeared to be a little more concerned than the above release notes, and appeared to be concerned around the ongoing safety of the device.
What has changed in the last 6 years that has seen them decide this device is now safe. Note also, that Medsafe referred to this “withdrawal from market” as a recall.

One response to “A new call for support for Essure users”

  1. Gynaecologist in NZ are true criminals without any form of oath or accountability. Time they were charged for destroying lives.
