It’s been a while since I last wrote a post, and so much, yet so little has happened. The petition closed and was duly submitted to parliament early August.
It was a full on time post closing when in the middle of writing my submission I got some awful flu that obliterated two weeks of writing time, but I got there in the end, and nervously sent in my written submission.
One nervous wait and a short closed Petitions Committee meeting later, where my submission was discussed, it appears to have been accepted and has now been published on Parliaments website.
If you would like to read my submission, you can do so by using the link below. Scroll down the page to to the document labelled “full evidence text” and it will open for you.
Now it feels like a limbo period, I suppose while it gets decided what the next step should be, but there are already things bubbling away in various relevant systems.
There is a bit of red-tape wrangling still to be had and processes to navigate, but while things seem to be moving slowly, and nothing much has been said lately, I can say that what looks like waiting already feels like a success.
