How great is it that a nice big spread appears in a leading (back then anyway) news publication advertising the virtues of the Essure device, no anaesthetic, done in a few minutes, no incisions or scars, no surgery.

“Pretty much like a heart stent” was how it was described to me, and to many others, along with “it just irritates the tubes into closing”. The worst that can happen is “it might fall out”, “they might not close enough”.

No allergies to nitinol?

Where are those gynaecologists now?  The ones that peddled and implanted the device?  Why are they not speaking up just as loudly and passionately against the harm this device has and is causing to women?  Why have they not contacted each and every implant recipient and completed a health review, especially considering they have never provided the monitoring Medsafe requested back in 2017?

Why has the NZ Herald not shown an interest in what has happened here in New Zealand. They’ve inundated us with stories of boob jobs, covered mesh, Mirena, the pill and endless other health stories.

Is it because their original spread was a paid spread with conditions attached, because there’s no interest to be garnered from the wider public, or because it’s just women?

Why are gynecologists that are cleaning up this damage not reporting the device damage and the harm caused to these women?

Simply because they don’t have to, they have no recourse and they cannot be compelled to care.  They do not know what they’re looking at, the risks associated with the device, the recipients medical history, and are oblivious to the carnage being created, and most are unlikely to ever encounter one again.

Women who have suffered, and those that are still suffering due to this device causing an ever growing list of health ailments are scrambling to find gynecologists who will listen, surgeons who will take the care to remove the device, and who will be honest with their care.

They’re looking for specialists who have a shred of decency and empathy, morals and integrity, who will honestly report the damage.

Sadly these gynecologists are very thin on the ground, if not nonexistent.

They’re looking for doctors that understand the signs and dangers of metal and plastic poisoning, the pain of an implant perforating internal organs, the catastrophic loss of bodily function and ability and know how to help us detoxify from the constant assault of poisoning and chronic inflammation.

What they find is no help, ignorance of the effects of the device, gaslighting and arrogance by specialists who know better, even when said specialist has never used or in most case heard of the device.

Do the so-called small amount of women injured by this device not deserve at least that?  Honesty and integrity in the very specialty that has caused them harm is sadly almost nonexistent. They prefer to believe that these women do not exist, that they do not deserve any care, and that they most certainly to do not deserve to have their health back.

For the sad reality is that without a growing number of harmed and sick women, these very specialists and a great deal of others would almost certainly find their workload diminished, and we can’t be having that now, can we.

Where is the care in health?
